Keep the weight of your boxes reasonable.
Pack heavy and dense objects into small boxes and lighter items in large boxes.

Tape your moving boxes well. Use a couple of pieces of tape to close the bottom and top seams, then use tape to wrap the box around.
Pack breakables with packing paper, not bubble wrap.
Pack as far in advance as possible. Start by packing off-season items and the items you won't miss.
